The ECS Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) Assessment is a multiple-choice test that covers a range of health and safety topics relevant to the electrical industry. The assessment is designed to ensure that all ECS cardholders have a good level of health and safety awareness. The assessment contains 50 questions, and you need to answer 43 of them correctly in order to pass. The questions are randomly selected from a database of approximately 300 questions. The assessment is a closed book assessment, so you are not allowed to bring any materials into the exam room. The topics covered in the assessment include:

The computer you are using will need a working internet connection, the latest web browser (such as Chrome) and a webcam pointing directly at you with a plain background behind you.

The ECS HS&E Assessment can be taken online or at a physical assessment centre. The online assessment is available 24/7, and you can take it at your own pace. The physical assessment centre is open during regular business hours. The cost of the ECS HS&E Assessment is £99. The assessment is valid for 36 months. If you fail the assessment, you can retake it as many times as you need to pass. However, you will need to pay the assessment fee each time you retake it.
