Duration:- This is a One Day event which will take place between 09 am – 5 pm.

Who Should Attend:-This course is to help those who are about to work, or have just begun to work in the Construction / Electrical  industry to understand the potential hazards they face on site.

Entry Requirements:-The minimum entry requirement is a good understanding of spoken and written English.

Course Content:-The course identifies employee responsibilities for looking after themselves and others, to help them understand, why they are carrying out their identified duties, it explains what is expected of them to ensure that they contribute to the safety of the workplace.

*Delegates will be able to understand the need to prevent accidents, have an understanding of health and safety law, identify how their role fits into the control and management of the site, understand the need for risk assessments and method statements and appreciate the need to perform safely and to stop and ask for advice if not sure, furthermore it will raise awareness to the reporting of unsafe acts to prevent an accident or further re-occurrence of unsafe acts.

*It is an ideal foundation for those wishing to obtain an industry accreditation card as it helps with preparation for the Construction Skills Health & Safety Test. A natural progression from this course would be to attend The Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme.

Exam:-

What the health and safety awareness exam involves:

  • You’ll sit a 30-minute multiple-choice exam
  • There are 25 questions to answer: 20 worth 1 mark, 5 worth 2 marks.
  • The pass mark is of 25 out of 30
  • Before you start, you’ll be required to present a valid photographic ID (a passport or UK/EU driving licence)
  • Individuals aged 16 to 18 years old will need a parent or guardian to attend the exam check-in process with Pearson VUE.

Please complete a system test on the computer and network you’ll be using for the exam before you begin. See the Technical section for more information.

Please Note: There is a £21 fee if you need to retake your exam

Your achievement:-

Upon passing your exam, you’ll receive:

  • Access to your ‘score report’ from our examination provider, Pearson VUE, showing your pass mark.
  • A digital certificate, confirming you have successfully completed the course. This will be available to download from your  e Courses Dashboard and is valid for five years.

The certificate is equivalent to the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment and can be used along with the CITB Health and Safety Environment Test for Operatives to support your application for a CSCS , ECS & CPCS card

Assessment & Award:-

The method of assessment will be by a 30 minute, 25 question, objective multiple-choice examination at the end of the course. As well as being expected to be interactive during the course.
